Privacy Policy

Introduction

Risk-Loss is committed to protecting the privacy of Personal Data that it is necessary for us to collect in the course of conducting our business.  We respect your right to privacy and comply with our obligations under the Data Protection Acts 1988 and 2003.  We collect Personal Data as part of our claim’s services through the following means:

Claims Forms, Telephone Calls, Mandates, Contracts, Emails, other forms of communications and through other third parties involved in our dealings with you.

 

Types of Information Collected

  • Personal Details – Your name, address, email, telephone numbers, your spouse or family members name and contact numbers if they are part of the assessment process, occupation.
  • Payment Details – Bank account details, mortgage provider details, passport or drivers licence ID.
  • Property Details – Location and identification of property insured to include property address, site maps, blue prints, vehicle license plate, photographs of the property.
  • Insurance Details – Policy details and claim number, policy schedules and booklets.
  • Support Documents – Information relating to cause of loss such as builder’s reports, fire service reports, technicians reports or specialists’ reports, accountants reports for stock assets and turnover.
  • Claims Handling – Claims history details, broker contact details or management company contact details.

 

How We Use your Personal Data

  • To communicate with you and any other interested parties regarding your assessment.
  • To send you or other interested parties regarding your assessment relevant information regarding the assessment.
  • To make decisions about the validity of the claim, level of cover, claim processing and final settlement of the claim.
  • To comply with our legal and regulatory obligations regarding identification of crime including money laundering and fraud.
  • To comply with business policies and procedures relating to finance, auditing, document production, printing and storage, and IT systems and management.
  • Carry out research including client satisfaction surveys.
  • To resolve consumer complaints and process any requests for data access or correction.

 

Sharing of Personal Data

Risk-Loss will make Personal Data available to the following parties as part of our claims management process or as required by law:

  • Insurance Companies or their representatives.
  • Brokers, appointed representatives, financial institutions, management companies, business partners.
  • Third party service providers such as accountants, auditors, solicitors, engineers, surveyors, architects, remediation’s specialist or other outside professional advisors.
  • Financial Experts that are responsible for servicing our accounts and debt collection.
  • Authorities and third parties involved in any legal action arising from an assessment.
  • Authorities as required by the legal process or regulation.
  • Emergency Service Providers involved in an incident that is the subject of an assessment.

 

Security of Personal Data

Risk-Loss will take all appropriate reasonable measures which are consistent with privacy and data security laws to protect your Personal Data.  However, if you feel the security of your Personal Data with us has been compromised please inform us immediately.

We will take all reasonable measure to ensure that any Personal Data we process is accurate and is necessary for the provision of our services to you and in line with the Data Protection Acts 1998 and 2003.

We will retain all Personal Data for the period as required under regulation by the Central Bank of Ireland which is six years following the date of assessment completion and closure.

If you are providing us with Personal Data relating to other individuals you agree:

  • To inform the said individuals about the content of this Privacy Policy
  • To obtain any legally required consent for the collection, use, disclosure and transfer of Personal Data about the individual in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

You have the right to access, correct or object to the use of or request deletion of Personal Data on certain grounds and please contact us with any such requests.  Please note that some Personal Data may be exempt from access, correction, objection or deletion in accordance with data protection laws and statutory requirements.  Risk-Loss is not and cannot be responsible for any other parties breach of our clients Personal Data.  This remains solely the responsibility of those parties.

We review this policy regularly and reserve the right to make changes at any time to take account of changes in our business or legal requirements.  This current policy version PP 1.2 is written and approved 2nd December 2018.
